The Lost Weekend

Woe is me! The boyfriend has to work over the weekend.

We received the news when we were at Suntec earlier to view the set-up. To make things worse, he has to be present on both days!!

I was just crowing over the plans we had - movie, shopping, washing the car (ok, have to admit, I'm rather relieved about the last one), and now... KAPUT!

The worst part is, I used to work on weekends and PHs all the time, and he never had to. So when I left my job, we were sooo looking forward to all the precious weekends we were going to have before I start with the new company.

Sigh... as disappointed as I am, I know that it's worse for him cos he is the one with the burnt weekend (and he is so not used to that!!). I promised to accompany him to his various appointments tomorrow so that he won't feel so bummed out. Hooray for me though, that the last stop is going to be at Page One for some book-signing thingy. I've run out of books to read since I finished Jingo so I am definitely looking forward to stocking up on some reads.

I love The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and he has a new book out titled A Thousand Splendid Suns, which I really really really want to get. But at $30+, I don't think it's worth it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I adore books and I love to own them rather than borrow them from the library or some second-hand bookshop. But the boyfriend and I have promised each other to cut down on extravagant items and save where we can for all our future plans so I'm trying to make good on my promise. If I wait it out, I figure that Borders will eventually slash the price down. Meanwhile, I just hope that none of my friends decide to do a book-spoiler on me.

Anyway the boyfriend has been really sweet about this whole situation; he has promised that if it's still early by the time he's done, we can catch a movie at Vivo. Ratatouille, Ratatouille!! YAY!

Updates, updates! Earlier tonight, I logged in to HO for the first time since May! Hail the queen of HO - she's back!

It's kinda crazy cos they changed the interface and the mobs are in abundance. Which is great cos leveling takes a shorter time but the screen gets so crowded that sometimes I can't target the mobs properly. I didn't feel up to taking on the Master though, so I scurried away when I saw him approaching. The boyfriend had a good laugh when he saw me doing that.

I was quite upset to find out that in my absence from the game, the boyfriend sold my +5 violet blade!! I know he had a perfectly logical reason for doing so, but that blade was just simply awesome, so I'm not even going to justify why he sold it. Yes I know, I have childish tendencies.

The gang was online as well and I have to say, I really miss Glenn and the kopi sessions at 164. I know the boyfriend does as well, probably more so than me, esp when work gets too much and he wants some male bonding time. I can't wait for Glenn and Debbie to come back for good.

Well, enough of my ramblings. It's 3am and I have to get up in 4hrs to get to Suntec. I hope the weekend can somewhat be salvaged. Wish me luck!
