I know it's been ages but before I explain my hiatus from blogging, I have to rant about something which has been bothering me for a few days now.
"STUFFS"
Use in various blogs as such:-
1. "I went shopping today with D and bought so much stuffs. Seriously damaging to the wallet."
2. About a birthday celebration: "Thanks to all my ger-gers for coming down to celebrate with me and getting me so many lovely stuffs."
It got to a point where I was seriously getting irritated by this suddenly ubiquitous word.
I must add a disclaimer - I do not have a fantastic command of the English language. I still come across new words when I read and have to refer to a dictionary. I can't say "unequivocally" without my tongue playing twister with me. But I remember learning about irregular plurals in my PSLE English textbook. Some nouns have identical singular and plural forms like moose, sheep, swine and STUFF.
To further complete this English lesson, according to Poppy Fields Dictionary:
Stuff (noun): things (informal)
Example 1: I only shop at Gucci. I simply adore their stuff!
Example 2: Please help me, I've got a lot of stuff to carry.
Stuff (verb): to fill, cram, plug
Example 1: Stuff the pillow with more down.
Example 2: Go stuff yourself, a**hole!
Stuffs (verb, present continuous tense)
Example 1: How does she expect to lose weight when she stuffs herself with food every minute?!
Example 2: She just stuffs all her clothes into the closet, no wonder she can't find anything to wear!
Got it?
On a happier note, I'm currently in love...
I'm biding my time before I can get my hands on this fab-fab-fabulous baby. Don't you just love Chanel stuffs?
